- Three students won fellowships and awards!Duc was awarded Link Foundation Ocean Engineering and Instrumentation Ph.D. Fellowship, Jino was awarded Graduate School Conference Participation Award, and Alex was awarded NASA CT Space Grant Consortium Undergraduate Scholarships!
- One journal article published in FlowOne journal article, “Biglobal input–output analysis of separated flow over a periodic hill“, has been published in Flow!
- Two journal articles published in Journal of Fluid Mechanics!Two journal articles, “Structured input–output analysis of compliant wall turbulence” and “Hydrodynamic properties of a flexible pipe in bidirectionally sheared flows undergoing vortex-induced vibration” have been published in Journal of Fluid Mechanics!
- Dr. Liu gave three seminars at URI, UConn Marine Sciences and Math departmentsDr. Liu gave three seminars at the University of Rhode Island, the UConn Department of Marine Sciences, and the UConn Department of Mathematics.
- Four undergraduates will start graduate school at Northwestern, HKUST, and USC!Zhengyang and Zekai will join Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Northwestern University as PhD students! Zheng and Leran will both join University of Southern California as a Master student!
